Brand design for practices
Patients judge your clinic before they ever meet your clinicians.
Allied health brand design is the work of defining how a practice looks, sounds and is recognised, from positioning and logo through to signage and GP letters. The Practice Engine builds brands for allied health clinics, multi-location groups and franchise networks across Australia, starting with who you serve and why you're different.
This service is part of our allied health marketing support for Australian practices.

Your clinicians are excellent. Your logo was made in an afternoon when you opened, and it shows.
Then you bought a second clinic. It kept its old name for "just a few months". That was three years ago. Now you've got two logos, three shades of blue and a referral pad nobody has updated since 2019. the brand guidelines are, in a word, vibes
Here's the cost. A GP gets letters from two practice names and has no idea they're the same business. A patient searches your name and finds two Google listings. Your new hire asks which logo to use and gets four answers.
This keeps happening because branding gets treated as a logo job. Someone designs a nice mark, hands over a zip file and walks away. Nobody decides who the practice is for or how it should show up.
Brand design for practices
It's the process of deciding who your practice serves and how it's different, then expressing that consistently in every place a patient or referrer meets you.
The logo is the visible part. Underneath sit positioning, messaging and rules your team can follow. Good healthcare branding makes a practice easy to remember, refer to and trust.
It also helps Google and AI tools. Search engines and AI assistants try to work out which business is which. When your name, logo, address and description match across your website, Google Business Profile, directories and socials, they can treat your practice as one clear entity. When they don't, your reputation splits across what looks like several businesses.

Days 1-30: Positioning first. We talk to you, your practitioners and your front desk, and look at your referral sources and local market. Then we agree positioning before anyone opens a design tool.
Days 31-60: Identity and voice. We present logo concepts, colours, type and messaging built on that positioning. You give feedback in structured rounds.
Days 61-90: Guidelines and rollout. We finish the brand guidelines and produce your collateral. We update your website assets, Google Business Profile and key listings. For groups, we start the clinic-by-clinic rollout.
Ongoing: Many practices follow brand work with website design. Others move into Meta ads or content marketing.

A brand is advertising too. Your name, tagline and key messages all fall under section 133 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law. They must not be false, misleading or deceptive, or create an unreasonable expectation of beneficial treatment.
That catches more brands than you'd think. Taglines like "pain-free in days" promise outcomes. Superlatives are hard to back up. Words like "specialist" in a practice name can imply specialist registration your practitioners don't hold. Patient testimonials can't be used in your brand campaigns either.
We check every tagline and collateral piece against AHPRA advertising guidance for regulated health services. For self-regulated professions like speech pathology, exercise physiology and dietetics, Australian Consumer Law still applies. We flag risks and suggest clearer wording. Your practice remains responsible for final approval.

Written scope, first
Before work starts, we document the agreed work, milestones and review points for the first 90 days. If an agreed item within our control is incomplete at day 90, we continue that agreed work at no management charge until it is complete. The commitment covers work we control. It does not guarantee patient volume, appointments, rankings, revenue or advertising platform outcomes.

It depends on scope. A logo and simple guidelines for one clinic costs much less than a full rebrand across many locations. Our current packages are in the pricing section above. Book a free Growth Brief and we'll recommend the right level, including whether you need positioning work or just a visual refresh.
Most single-practice rebrands follow our 90-day plan: positioning in the first month, identity and voice in the second, then guidelines and rollout in the third. Multi-location groups and franchise networks often take longer to roll out. Signage, uniforms and printed stock need replacing site by site. We agree the timeline in writing before starting.
Yes, it can. Your name and tagline are advertising under section 133 of the National Law. A tagline that promises results, or a name that implies specialist registration your practitioners don't hold, could be misleading. We check names and messaging against AHPRA's advertising guidelines and suggest safer options, but your practice remains responsible for final approval.
Usually, yes. One name and logo builds recognition faster, makes GP referrals simpler and helps Google treat your clinics as one group. Some groups keep a well-known local name with an "a member of" line during a transition. We weigh local goodwill against long-term consistency before recommending one.
A rebrand can cause short-term confusion if your name changes in some places but not others. We reduce that risk by updating your website, Google Business Profile and key listings together, and redirecting any old domain properly. We can't promise rankings won't move, but we plan to protect them.
Good guidelines cover logo use, colours, fonts, tone of voice, key messages and photo style. For a healthcare practice, they should also cover practitioner titles, offer wording and testimonial rules. Ours include templates for GP letters, referral pads and social posts, so your team can apply the brand without guesswork.
If you're happy with who you serve and how you're different, a visual refresh may be enough. If you've grown, merged or changed direction, start with positioning. A new logo on unclear positioning is just a nicer version of the same problem. We'll tell you honestly which one you need during the free Growth Brief.
